Alexandra, Victoria, Aust | A small town in Central Eastern Victoria, it was originally called Red Gate. Originally a small agricultural town it developed on the back of gold finds in the area. After the gold ran out, the town supplied workers for the nearby Rubicon Forest woodmills. |

Meandarra, Queensland, Aust | A small town near Roma in Queensland, when the Paynes moved there in the early years of the 20th century it was pioneer country. There was no town. The Paynes helped build the school, providing 2 of the initial 10 students, acting as Town Coucillors etc. |
Stawell, Victoria, Aust | |
Woodstock, Victoria, Aust | When the Paynes moved here in the 1850s/60s, it was a prosperous agricultural community and was considered the "bread basket" of Melbourne. It great wheat for the mills and other staples. |
